Minimally Invasive Surgery

Laparoscopy, also known as 'minimally invasive surgery,' is a revolutionary technique that reduces risk and shortens recovery time for many operations. Rather than making a large incision in the abdomen, several small incisions are made. Surgical instruments are used through these openings, and a tiny camera is used to view the surgery's progress inside the abdomen.

This procedure leaves minimal scarring, and recovery is much quicker than with traditional surgery. Not all procedures or patients can benefit from laparoscopy, however. If you're preparing for surgery, talk to your physician. Your doctor can tell you about your options for surgery, and what best suits your situation.
