About Advanced Surgical Associates, SC
Philosophy
Our success as general surgeons extends beyond our surgical skills. We believe in
treating our patients well -- spending time with them, educating them, and genuinely
caring for them.
What is General Surgery?
As general surgeons, we are specialists who have extensive training and experience
in a wide variety of medical conditions. Some of the more common procedures include gall bladder surgery, hernia repair, breast surgery and colon surgery. [services]
About the Practice
Advanced Surgical Associates is a leading practice of General Surgeons in the Chicago area. We are all board certified and Fellows of
the American College of Surgeons. Our training encompasses diagnostic, pre-operative,
operative, and post-operative management. If a patient's problem lies outside of our areas
of expertise, we obtain appropriate consultation. We always work closely with each
patient's primary care physician. We do our best to explain all treatment options,
surgical and non-surgical, for a patient's particular problem. We place a high value
on educating our patients, and explain all testing and operations so patients can
make informed decisions and know what to expect.
Advanced Surgical Associates physicians practice out of Alexian Brothers Medical Center
in Elk Grove Village, Illinois (a western suburb of Chicago) and Northwest Community
Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois (a northwestern suburb of Chicago).
[locations] The physicians are an integral part of the select trauma team at both hospitals, where they
chair numerous hospital committees. They also hold key positions such as Chief
of Surgery and Trauma Director. In addition to hospital activities, the physicians are members of the Medicare Advisory Board and officers
of the Chicago Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.
All of the physicians of Advanced Surgical Associates are board certified and Fellows
of the American College of Surgeons. They have been at the forefront of innovative
changes in surgery and were the first surgeons to perform laparoscopic cholecystectomies and stereotactic breast biopsies at their hospitals.
All of our surgeons continue to update their skills through regular continuing medical
education programs, some of which they also teach.
[surgeons]
It has been said that a truly successful surgeon must be well trained, honest, and
most important, be chosen by the operating room nurse to operate on a family
member. After nineteen years in practice, the practice's largest referral source
continues to be the nurses at their hospitals. There can be no greater compliment to a
physician.
